Endorsement Letter - Elias - MCP @Brazil - 0506

In my opinion the Taking Responsibilities phase of the AIESEC XP is often the most confusing and the most neglected stage of the entire experience. I compare it with the adolescence phase of our life, you are not a kid any more (new member) but has not grown enough to be an adult (leadership role). Like in your teen years you often feel confused and is faced with a series of difficult decisions to make that will impact the rest of your experience. It is during these turbulent times that our true potential starts to show up and knowing how to use this recently discovered potential is critical for success in life or in AIESEC.

I have met Gabryel through his Taking Responsibility stage when I worked very closely to him in the Branding Drive Team. You just needed to speak with Gabryel for 5 minutes and you would very soon notice his passion for Branding and Communication. During a time when AIESEC was still learning the importance of communication and branding Gabryel would often encounter a wall of skeptical people that thought that communication and branding was a “waste of time”.

Most people would get de-motivated with this skepticism but Gabryel as a “good teenager” would fight for his beliefs despite what other people thought or said. Having him as my “right arm” in the Branding Drive Team was critical to the change of perception that we were able to implement that year.

I was sure at that time that Gabryel was just starting his career in AIESEC and that I would soon hear about him again.

After several years and a position as MCVP in Spain Gabryel is definitely not anymore the “teenager” that I once met but his passion for Communication and for AIESEC clearly remain the same.

I’m looking forward to seeing Gabryel in the MC of Brazil.
